What is Book Club? It is when a group of awesome people read the same novel and discuss it as a group!

What Book are we reading? This semester we will be reading the novel The Princess Bride by William Goldman

But I am reading so much in my other courses! If you are taking a high school English course with the Distance Learning Centre, you will be able to substitute this novel for one of the novels in your course. (With the exception of ELA A30 – Sorry Canadian literature scholars!)

Please contact your ELA course instructor for more information on this substitute.

Here's what you need to know:

Synopsis: This is a timeless tale that pits country against country, good against evil, and love against hate. Filled with unforgettable characters such as Westley, the handsome farm boy who risks death for love; Inigo, the Spanish swordsman who only lives to avenge his father’s death; Fezzik, the gentle giant; Vizzini, the evil Sicilian; Prince Humperdink, the evil ruler; Count Rugen, the evil torturer; and Princess Buttercup, the most beautiful woman in the land. It is an action filled adventure with fantastical beasts and memorable surprises. Is it a love story, a satire, a fantasy? You read the novel and decide!
