Join the DLC Field Trip to Wanuskewin Heritage Park (for Kindergarten to Grade 9)
We invite our K-9 students to join us for a field trip experience at Wanuskewin Heritage Park just outside of Saskatoon on Friday October 21, 2022. All students must be accompanied by a guardian who is on-site for the duration of the day.
Participating students will be split into two groups for guided programming throughout the day based on grade levels. There will be both structured activities and opportunities for students to explore the galleries and exhibits independently with their family or with their teacher(s). 9:30 Check-in Begins (Arrive to sign in, receive name tags, meet teachers)
10:00 Programming Begins
10:15 - 11:15 Activity 1 (2 groups)
11:15-12:15 Group 1 Lunch, Group 2 Activity
12:15 - 1:15 Group 1 Activity, Group 2 Lunch
1:15 - 2:15 Activity 3 (2 groups)
2:15 - 3:30 Self-Guided Time (Depart when desired)
“Important: Some of the day's activities are outdoors and involve walking. Please dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear.”
Notes About Lunch: Participants need to bring a bagged lunch. Microwaves are not available. Please avoid nut products in lunches. If the weather cooperates, we can enjoy a picnic lunch outdoors, or the indoor classroom is also available.
There is a $5 flat-rate cost for parking for the day, payable at the site via cash, credit card, or through the Honk Mobile App. The money Wanuskewin collects from parking goes towards the ongoing maintenance of their Bison Project and the Grasslands Restoration Project.

The deadline for registration is Wednesday October 12th at 4:00pm. We have limited participant slots for this opportunity, so please sign up your students as soon as possible. If participant numbers reach their capacity prior to the registration deadline, we will communicate this and begin a waiting list.
